Nara and Narayan are two great sages meditating and performing austerities in the Himalayas for ages. Narayan is the incarnation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Indra became fearful of the great sages' austerities and he sent Cupid to seduce them with the help of the Apsaras, the heavenly dancers. But to their astonishment, Narayan created more beautiful Apsaras by stroking His thigh. Story from the Vedas, or more precisely from Srimad-Bhagavatam.
