This painting depicts the revered story of Vamanadeva, the dwarf incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who appears in response to the prayers of the demigods. Bali Maharaja, the powerful king of the demons and grandson of Prahlad Maharaja, had conquered the three worlds and taken the realms of the demigods. In a gesture of divine humility and strategy, Vamanadeva approaches Bali and requests just three steps of land. With His first two steps, He covers the entire universe, leaving no space for the third. Honoring his promise, Bali surrenders completely and offers his own head for the final step. This moment captures a profound act of devotion, surrender, and divine play — rendered here in oil with traditional Vedic symbolism and classical realism.
