"This original oil painting on linen canvas brings to life the profound story from the Katha Upanishad.
It depicts the young Brahmin boy Nachiketa, who, after arriving at the abode of Yamaraja (the god of death), patiently waits three days in the absence of the Lord of Death.
Moved by Nachiketa’s steadfastness and respect, Yamaraja grants him three boons: first, reconciliation and peace between Nachiketa and his father; second, the knowledge of the sacred fire sacrifice; and third, answers to the deepest mystery of existence — what happens after death.
This painting captures a timeless moment of patience, devotion, and the quest for spiritual wisdom, as described in the ancient Vedic scriptures.
